  Admission Examinations for MSocSc programs  

CSS launched call for proposals on MSocSc interdisciplinary programs for AY 2009-2010

Admission Examinations were held at CSS office (TSU II block, IV floor, Rooms # 139, 145):
  • June 22, 10.00 am – Written examination in specialization
  • June 23, 10.00 am – English test. Applicants of Gender Studies program will require B1 level. Applicants of TSC program will require B2 level.
  • June 26, 10.00 am – Interview (schedule for TSC applicants; schedule for GENDER applicants)
  • July – National Examinations for Master’s programs (for Georgian applicants only)

Final results will be announced after announcement of scores in National Examinations for Master’s programs.

  • Brief information about programs:

    The Center for Social Sciences has been administering the interdisciplinary Master Programs “Gender Studies” and “Transformation in the South Caucasus” since September 2005. These programs belong to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and were developed on the basis of CSS through intensive cooperation with foreign partners from prominent Western Universities: University of Oxford, Mount Holyoke Collage, Rutgers State University, Central European University. Lectures and research seminars delivered by guest professors from different European and US universities are included in the curriculums of Master Programs. Students have access to various academic resources including CSS Library, E-resources and archives of academic journals, audio and video educational materials. The programs provide students’ internship in governmental structures, local and international non-governmental organizations. Center also works on the perspectives of employment for the graduates of the programs. Students have unique chance to get Master’s degree in Social Sciences adequate to Western standards of education. Both academic programs are funded by Higher Educational Support program of Open Society Institute, Budapest. Full educational grants for 2 academic year are provided for top students. 9 Fellowships will be given to students of Transformation in the South Caucasus program and 5 Fellowships to Gender Studies program.

    Agenda of presentations, consultations and admission examinations:

    Registration of applications for AY 2009-2010 will start from May 15. CSS will hold presentations and open door days for prospect students in the end of April and at the beginning of May at Tbilisi and regional Universities.

    • May 14, 13.00 pm – Presentation of MSocSc program in Gender Studies
